New tanks are hydrostatically tested before being placed into service. This process involves additional integrity checks, such as watching for possible leaks while the tank is filled with water. Additionally, cathodic protection prevents corrosion while regular operations are carried out. Additionally, tanks are grounded to prevent static electricity buildup during filling and refilling and, in the unlikely event that lightning strikes do occur, to deflect the strike. All of our facilities are routinely maintained, inspected, and watched over. Every tank undergoes a visual inspection at least once a month by skilled terminal personnel. In addition, there are additional annual exams.
